Conferences & Calendar

The premier conference for recommender systems research is the yearly ACM Conference Series on Recommender Systems. However, there are plenty of conferences in the fields of information retrieval, machine learning, user modeling, HCI, and other fields that publish research on recommender systems.

On this page, you find a list of relevant conferences (Google Sheet) and a calendar with the important dates (View Conference Calendar; Import Conference Calendar to your own Google Calendar).

Conference/Event Calendar

The calendar shows all the conferences we consider relevant for the RecSys community. For selected conferences, we also include submission deadlines.

To see a list of all events, switch to the “Agenda” tab and select “Look for more”. Open the calendar in a new browser window for a better overview.

Click the “+” at the bottom of the calendar to add the calendar to your own Google account.

If you want to help us maintain the calendar, please contact us.

The Dagstuhl Seminar 24211, held from May 20 to May 24, 2024, focused on “Evaluation Perspectives of Recommender Systems: Driving Research […]

Yes! In 2024, there will be another Summer School on Recommender Systems (in Bari, Italy)

Once in a while, there are recommender-systems summer schools co-located with the ACM Recommender Systems Conference. Also, this year, there will be a summer school organized by Ludovico Boratto, Cataldo Musto and Fedelucio Narducci. Supposedly, as in previous years, there will be a panel of mentors who belong to the most reputable recsys researchers in […]

“Recommender Systems – Frontiers in Big Data” has published 18 articles since its launch

We regularly report about the ACM TORS journal, but there is another journal for recommender systems research: The “Recommender Systems” journal that is part of the “Frontiers in Big Data” series. The Recommender Systems journal even was launched a few months before ACM TORS was announced. While the Frontiers Media publisher is subject to criticism, […]

The 17th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems (ACM RecSys) in Singapore has ended some weeks ago. The first Dutch-Belgian Workshop on Recommender Systems

I have been advocating more ‘local’ initiatives to connect the regional recommender-systems communities for a long time (e.g. I am still hoping for a European RecSys Conference). As such, I am very glad to see the announcement of the “DBWRS“. The DBWRS is the first Dutch-Belgian Recommender Systems Workshop, taking place 14-15 December 2023 in […]

List of 18 Workshops at ACM RecSys 2023 published

The Web Conference 2023 requires at least one full non-student registration for accepted papers, even for students.

The Web Conference 2023 (formerly WWW) is a notable conference in the field of recommender-systems. This year, the conference chairs decided that authors of accepted papers must register at least for one full on-site non-student 3-day ticket, starting at $900, even if the presenting, or all, author(s) are students. That is quite uncommon to my […]
